BSS youngster continues Forest progress |
|
Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS) graduate Emile Sinclair continued his progress at Nottingham Forest with a substitute performance in the side's Carling Cup clash with Premier League outfit Sunderland. Sinclair, who was also part of the Garforth Town under-19 set-up for over a year, was introduced to the game in the second-half of extra-time, with Forest trailing 2-1 after a closely-fought encounter at The City Ground. The 20-year old follows in the footsteps of Micah Richards, Oliver Hotchkiss, John Bostock, Aidan White and a host of other BSS graduates making a name for themselves in the professional game, with thousands more below them forcing their way through the academy ranks. White made his first-team debut for Leeds United in their own Carling Cup encounter with Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, impressing in the left-back position and prompting calls from The Whites' fans for the 16-year old to play there regularly. |

The game started off with both sides showing good spells of football but neither really using the possession to great effect until the 17th minute. The pace of Dominique Blair proved too much for the Curzon defence on a number of occasions the nippy striker left them coughing in his dust. On this instance a ball played over the top saw the defence and goalkeeper split with a lovely lob finish from young Blair, a good finish to make it 1-0. |
